Concerned about Tren Cough?
Well, to be honest, it is one of the most common side effects of Trenbolone and what makes things really concerning is that it can be a nightmare to experience these coughs.
All steroids have side effects and if you use them as a part of your bodybuilding regime, then you have to be aware of all the dangers that you are exposing your body to.
Most of the steroids work by increasing testosterone artificially in your body and this can lead to a whole lot of unwanted symptoms and side effects. It would not be wrong to say that these are the symptoms you might remember from your teenage years!
Worse, steroids can often prevent testosterone production altogether and leave you permanently reliant on HRT to fend off impotence. Then there’s liver toxicity and the risk to the heart, either of which can be lethal.
But this is all common knowledge. What a lot of people are less aware of are all the unique side effects caused by specific types of steroids. Take Trenbolone for instance and it’s ‘Tren cough’. This is an issue unique to Tren and it’s something that will come as a surprise for many users. But what is it? And can it kill you, more importantly?
What is Tren Cough?
Table of Contents
Tren cough is, of course, a cough that is associated with Trenbolone use. Specifically, it is a persistent cough that doesn’t go away but interestingly, it tends to be most severe immediately after the individual has injected in many cases.
What causes Tren Cough?
So what causes it? Unfortunately, nobody knows for sure at this point.
Scenario 1 – What we do know is that Trenbolone has numerous complex side effects. One of these is the release of lipids that can trigger constriction in the cardiovascular system. This, in turn, could well explain where the cough would come from.
Scenario 2 – Another theory is that Tren cough could be the result of the strain that the drug puts on the liver. Alternatively, it might be to do with elevated LDL cholesterol (one type of lipid).
Scenario 3 – Another theory is that it isn’t the drug itself that is responsible but rather the benzyl molecules that are used as solvents when creating the tablets. There is some evidence to suggest that benzyls and alkyls could be hepatoxic.
What’s also potentially interesting though is that some Tren variants, such as Trenbolone Enanthate and Parabolan do not cause Tren cough.
What do actual Tren Users say about Tren Cough?
In order to understand the severity of the problem, it is important to have a look at what actual Tren users experience when cough because of Tren dosage.
I was going through a popular bodybuilding forum and this post, which sums up how dangerous things can be…
“What causes tren coughs?
I do not clearly understand what causes it but I tend to get them every time that I use this steroid. Having said that, my buddy almost never gets it even though he has been using tren for a couple of years now. This kind of makes me confused.
He goes on to say that the cough initially is mild but then a hot rush flows inside him and at times this feeling of warmth is so intense he has to take off his clothes and have to drink a lot of water too. Not just this, it also leaves his vision blurry which is often accompanied by a tightening of the chest. Many would find that these are conditions that are quite similar to those of an asthma attack.”
I think this could clearly sums up, how severe this condition can be and many would presume that it can be life-threatening too.
But more often than not, this condition lasts for a couple of minutes, stretching anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes before it subsides. But what is certain is that it is likely to leave the user shaken, distraught, and completely tired. Many users fall asleep after an episode of tren cough and things usually take a couple of hours to get back to normal.
Is Tren Cough Dangerous? Can Someone Die From It?
But the important question you need to ask is: is Tren cough dangerous and whether someone can die from it?
The answer, unfortunately, is that no one really knows this either.
What we know is that nobody has seemingly died directly as the result of Tren cough. However, that’s more likely because the Tren cough itself is a symptom rather than the root of the problem. It may well be that the root of the problem is something to worry about.
And Trenbolone certainly is not safe. Liver toxicity can potentially be fatal and so can heart problems associated with testosterone boosting steroids.
How to Avoid Tren Cough?
Since having Trenbolone is the cause of getting Tren Cough, the simplest solution is to Avoid Taking Trenbolone, or maybe, even other steroids.
Use a Longer Ester of Tren
Those that are deep into steroids often take the route of having a form of trenbolone that comes with a longer ester and some of the examples of such forms include:
- Trenbolone enanthate and
The main reason behind this is that these compounds get absorbed in your body at a slower rate, which tends to minimize the chances of getting a severe cough or the infamous Tren Cough.
Another plus of using a longer ester is that you need fewer injections and fewer injections imply less coughing.
Yet another approach used by most users is that of diluting tren. What they do is that they combine tren with another anabolic steroid such as Testosterone or Sustanon, in order to dilute the Tren Dosage. Typically, they combine tren with another steroid in the same syringe before injecting.
It is important to keep in mind that as the concentration of trenbolone increases per ml, the chances of getting then cough also increase. For instance, if you inject yourself with a dose of 75 ml, you are more likely to experience severe coughing as compared to a dosage of 50 ml of tren.
Site of Injecting the steroid
Where you inject your steroid is another factor that could lead to the occurrence of cough. For instance, if you inject the steroid in your chest or quads, you are less likely to experience cough as compared to if you inject it in your back or glutes. This is because the chest and quads have fewer blood vessels as compared to the back or glutes. Having fewer blood vessels means the reduced speed at which Tren is released into your body.
Is Tren Cough dangerous or life-threatening?
Tren Cough is one of the most common side effects of Trenbolone. Even though Tren can lead to severe coughing, it is not considered a dangerous or life-threatening side effect. In most cases, it is likely to subside within a few minutes of having the injection. Having said that, most people get extremely anxious when they experience severe coughing as a result of having Trenbolone injections. There have been cases wherein people have panicked and called 911 too.
Even though tren cough is not a serious side effect, Trenbolone is one of the few steroids that comes with highly dangerous side effects that include high blood pressure, etc. Thus, it must be taken with due care and diligence.
Does Icing the injection site prevent Tren cough?
When it comes to Tren cough, there’s no one particular cure that actually works. However, there are some preventive measures that you can take and they too are not foolproof. In other words, such preventive measures work for some users and not for others. Some of these including using a long ester of trenbolone or diluting the dosage of the injection.
The icing strategy is used by bodybuilders to shrink the capillaries with the aim of reducing blood flow so that the steroid gets into the bloodstream slowly. But again, this strategy works for some and not for others.
Which are the best places to inject Tren?
Like most of the other testosterone injections, Tren is also an intramuscular injection. Two of the most common sites where people inject it include the deltoid or your upper arm or the glute. However, injecting Tren in the glutes can raise your chances of getting tren cough.
